According to USAID, 19.4 million youth do not attend higher education in Indonesia. On the other hand, 73% of parents do borrow money to fund their children’s education, either from friends, family, or even loan sharks. With limited government support and no student financing available in the market, Indonesian students are left without options.

As a solution, DANAdidik provides education financing. Using the power of crowdfunding, the platform connects sponsors with students who are in financial need and in their last 2 year of higher education.

Established in 2015, the student loan is designed for underprivileged students, with an income-sharing repayment model and with a focus towards funding vocational undergraduates. DANAdidik has successfully funded hundreds of students in a various region in Indonesia. Specifically, DANAdidik prioritizes those who are considered as vulnerable such as woman and them who are raised orphans/by a single parent.

By reducing the gap in higher education participation, DANAdidik hopes to pave the way to students to get higher education so that they can live their life to the fullest and eventually increase their income. That goal is in the same breath with the spirit of United Nations to objectify the SDG’s; the Forth point: Quality Education which includes the proper and inclusiveness education access, and encourages lifelong learning opportunities for everyone.
