The GIST initiative understands entrepreneurs need resources and support to succeed, and through online programs and boot camp workshops, innovators have the opportunity to learn how to turn their business ideas into a successful venture. GIST will work with entrepreneurs from Jordan during the next Startup Boot Camp in Amman which will run August 27 - 30.
The Startup Boot Camps support science and technology startups through hands-on mentorship, training activities and information on funding, led by U.S. and local entrepreneurs and investors.
The teams will have hands-on training during the four-day boot camp, learning about lean startups, customer development, value propositions and much more. Teams are now able to apply for the boot camp, and the top applicants will explore how to make their innovation succeed in a global marketplace, present their ideas to the public, as well as compete for prizes.
The ideal GIST Startup Boot Camp team will consist of two team members, ages 18 to 40 years old – including one inventor or entrepreneurial lead, and one business or management lead. Each team must be willing to pursue their technology-based innovation for commercialization into the market.
The keynote speaker will be Nina Vaca, chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Group – who took Pinnacle Group from a niche IT services firm to the workforce solutions powerhouse it is today. Vaca advocates passionately for women and entrepreneurs, and works to advance girls and women in STEM fields.
