GIST Investors Indonesia

The U.S. Department of State Global Innovation through Science and Technology, or GIST, Initiative, along with implementation partner VentureWell and local partner Angel Investment Network Indonesia (ANGIN), provided continued support for the Indonesian science and technology startup ecosystem by launching a second GIST Investors Mobilization Training Program, also known as GIST Investors, in April 5, 2019. This in-person training was held in Jakarta and is another part of GIST’s continued commitment to supporting the Indonesian science and technology investor ecosystem.

The training brought leading global angel investors to train Indonesian science and technology-focused investors on portfolio management, risk mitigation, and cross-border investing. The program equipped Indonesian investors with a sound knowledge base so they could continue to support the thriving Indonesian entrepreneurial ecosystem.

In addition to the in-person training, GIST Investors will be hosting one optional informational online training for participants leading up to the April program. Presented in March, this online training will focus on why science and technology startups fail and how to identify and mitigate those risks. Information on this online training will be released soon.

If you represent a formal investor network, a venture capital firm, or an investment fund and are interested in participating in GIST Investors in Indonesia, contact Eli Velasquez at [email protected].
