ASEAN Innovation Comes to America
Meet the extraordinary innovators of the 2025 ASEAN Business Incubation program
GIST’s startup training programs are designed to build skills and capabilities in founders so that they can bring their ideas to market with the highest chance of success possible. We begin with foundational knowledge and best practices, utilizing the Lean Methodology to fine tune a product and assure market fit. We then challenge entrepreneurs to show that their innovative product is both feasible, needed, and can scale. Along the way, we provide opportunities for founders to earn startup resources and we introduce them to investor-readiness principles. As a natural followup to these steps, we bring cohorts of young science & technology founders to the U.S. to incubate in one of the world’s most vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystems. It is all part of the U.S. Department of State’s goal to support thriving, resourceful ventures across the globe.
Now, in partnership with VentureWell, and a new collaboration with Portland State University (PSU), GIST is delighted to announce the launch of the ASEAN Business Incubation Program. This transformative initiative brings together Southeast Asia’s most promising science and technology entrepreneurs to connect with leading American businesses, investors, and ecosystem builders enabling cross-market access and fostering groundbreaking innovations.
This program exemplifies the U.S. commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and collaboration on a global scale. With a comprehensive six-week residency, participants will immerse themselves in hands-on entrepreneurial training in Portland, Oregon, followed by an exclusive trip to Washington, D.C., where they will interface with U.S. Department of State leadership. This unique opportunity allows participants to showcase their visions and build relationships with key policymakers, fostering connections that span international borders.
Many of this year’s participants have already demonstrated their excellence in innovation through prior GIST programs, including the latest ASEAN Startup Training held in Singapore, further cementing their readiness to take this next big step in their entrepreneurial journeys.
