GIST Regional Startup Training Caucasus Awarding $13,000 USD in Seed Capital

The GIST Initiative is excited to announce that it has secured $13,000 USD in seed capital which it will award to startups participating in the GIST Regional Startup Training Caucasus. The funds, along with several days of intensive business training, are one of many ways that GIST works to support young founders in emerging economies.

Entrepreneurs participating in the Regional Startup Training will have a chance to compete for their share of the prize money during the startup training’s Demo Day. The Demo Day happens on the final day of the training, and provides entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their startups to an audience of entrepreneurs, investors, policy-makers and regional government leaders.

The prize breakdown for the Demo Day winners is as follows:

  • The Grand Prize Winner will receive $2,000 USD in seed capital and will be awarded with $10,000 USD in support to help with business incubation inside the United States.
  • Second Place will receive $1,000 USD in seed capital.
  • GIST will also be recognizing an outstanding entrepreneur with the Spirit of GIST award.

 

The GIST Regional Startup Training Caucasus will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia April 20 – 23, 2019. The training will focus on teaching science and tech innovators how to develop a business plan, discover new customers, perfect their pitch, and support their leap into entrepreneurship.
