Conoce a Agostinho Almeida

Ubicado en Medellín (Colombia), Agostinho Almeida dirige las inversiones en emprendimientos en ciencias biológicas y tecnología de la información en la Unidad de capital de riesgo empresarial de Promotora.

Pertenece a un equipo que gestiona un fondo de riesgo de 40.000 millones de pesos colombianos con siete inversiones en curso, y lidera la recaudación de recursos para un segundo fondo. Almeida ha ayudado a desarrollar negocios y proyectos en sectores que van desde el instrumental médico al desarrollo de programas de computación, ha sido cofundador de tres compañías y ha recaudado casi dos millones de euros para diversos emprendimientos.

Conoce a Richard Boly

Richard Boly es un exdiplomático de carrera en Estados Unidos y exdirector de la Oficina de Diplomacia Electrónica “eDiplomacy”, un centro de pensamiento en tecnología aplicada para el Departamento de Estado de Estados Unidos. Un proponente de toda la vida del apoyo a los emprendedores globales como elemento de la política exterior de Estados Unidos fue Asociado en Asuntos de Seguridad Nacional en el Instituto Hoover en la Universidad de Stanford, donde estableció el Programa de Emprendedores Globales. Boly tuvo asignaciones diplomáticas en Italia, la República Dominicana, Ecuador y Paraguay. Actualmente trabaja para Beaurichly LLP.

About Dr. Agostinho Almeida

Dr. Agostinho Almeida, is an Investment Manager with Promotora’s Venture Capital Unit. Based in Medellín, Colombia, Agostinho has executive training in Tech Commercialization and Venture Capital, and currently is part of a team that leads the Life Sciences Investments and Portfolio companies at Promotora. There he helps manage a COP$ 40,000 Million size fund, having made 7 investments and 3 exits (2 total and 1 partial) in the Life Sciences and IT sectors and is currently fundraising for a second fund of COP$ 60,000 Million.  Additionally, Agostinho has helped develop businesses and projects in sectors ranging from medical devices to software development and has co-founded and owned three companies, raising approx. 2.0 € million euros for his different ventures.

About Richard Boly

Richard Boly is an intrapreneur, consulting with the World Bank, IMF, Federal Reserve, Inter-American Foundation, and U.S. Institute of Peace.  He was a distinguished career U.S. diplomat, and served embassy assignments in Rome, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Paraguay.  Previously, he was a National Security Affairs Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he launched the Global Entrepreneurship Program.  Richard serves on the board of the Mind the Bridge Foundation, InnovateEDU, Organization of Pakistani Entrepreneurs (OPEN) Global, AMPION, and TableTribes, and is a mentor at the Sprint Techstars accelerator.
