In fact, most early-stage ventures experience game-changing setbacks. It’s easy for entrepreneurs to become discouraged and give up on their ventures when they fail. Speakers' Biographies
Ryan Babineaux is a personal and executive coach, researcher, and Stanford University lecturer. His work has been featured in The New York Times, O, The Oprah Magazine, and GQ. His research explores how people embody their deepest values and passions within impactful careers. He is the co-author of Fail Fast, Fail Often: How Losing Can Help You Win, and founder of EssentialSmarts LLC, located in Boulder, Colorado. Babineaux received a PhD in Educational Psychology from Stanford and MEd from Harvard.
Jo Ann Corkran, Partner of Golden Seeds LLC and Golden Seeds Fund 2, is an investor in over 40 private companies including life sciences, technology and consumer products ventures. She serves on the board of two SaaS companies: Crimson Hexagon, a social media analytics company, and Proseeder Technologies, an enterprise platform for the private securities marketplace. Prior to Golden Seeds, Jo Ann had a more than 20-year career on Wall Street. She gained extensive experience in asset management and securities research, mainly with Credit Suisse and First Boston. Jo Ann holds a BS in Mathematics from NYU, and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (Lapsed).
Leticia Gasca is the Global Director for The Failure Institute. She is part of the Global Shapers that attend the World Economic Forum. In 2015, she was chosen by The Economist as one of the “Voices from 2040”, and was awarded as Woman Entrepreneur of the Year. Leticia is the author of the book Surviving Failure, and a columnist at Forbes.
Pedro López Sela has more than 20 years of leadership, investment, mentorship and consulting experience. He’s worked in a number of capacities with startups, SME’s, global corporations, think tanks, NGOs and government organizations around the world. Pedro is an instructor for the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (NSF I-CorpsTM), Global Innovation through Science and Technology (GIST), and Fomento Geek. He is mentor at Mass Challenge, Village Capital, Endeavor, The Pitch and Monterrey Tec. He is a frequent conference keynote, a Lego Serious Play Trainer and a B Corp consultant.
