MIT Solve Initiative Seeking Innovative Solutions to Global Problems

June 17, 2018

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Solve initiative is looking for tech-enabled solutions that address four global challenges – and there is $650,000 USD in prize funding available to competing startups.

Anyone in the world can submit their startup or idea to the Solve Initiative. However, the submittals must be addressing one of the following four challenges:

  1. Coastal Communities: How can coastal communities mitigate and adapt to climate change while developing and prospering? #CoastalCommunities
  2. Frontlines of Health: How can communities invest in frontline health workers and services to improve their access to effective and affordable care? #HealthWorkers
  3. Teachers and Educators: How can teachers and educators provide accessible, personalized, and creative learning experiences for all? #EduLeaders
  4. Work of the Future: How can those most affected by the technology-driven transformations of work create productive and prosperous livelihoods for themselves? #FutureOfWork

Solve advances lasting solutions from Tech Entrepreneurs to address the world’s most pressing problems. Each year the initiative seeks out the most promising “Solver teams” who will drive transformational change in the world.

Each Solver team receives $10,000 USD from MIT Solve and opportunities for additional funding from the Solve Community, which includes prizes from General Motors and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation.
