Nigerian and Cameroonian Startups Win $5 Million Access Co-Development Fund

techcabal.com - Nigeria’s Quaint Solar Energy and Cameroon’s Flatbush Solar have emerged winners of the Access Infra Africa (Access) competition winning a joint $5 million in funding,

Access Infra Africa announced the winners on Tuesday. The winners were selected ahead of Ghana’s Ada Solar Energy and Wagonanze Investments of Tanzania both of whom were among the original four shortlisted during the competition.

The competition received over 55 submissions from 18 African countries, including Kenya, South Africa, Morocco, Ghana, Rwanda and Tanzania.

Quaint Solar energy was selected for its 50 MW solar project that is designed to use photovoltaic technology to reduce power deficit in Nigeria and Cameroonian startup, Flatbush Solar invented a 20 MW solar fixed ground photovoltaic plant built to provide energy to the city of Maroua including neighbouring town and villages.
