OrderEat wins 1st Place at GIST Startup Trainings Mexico

A teaching team from the University of Texas at Austin IC2 Institute coordinated with the U.S. Department of State to conduct a successful Startup Trainings for entrepreneurs for GIST (Global Innovation through Science and Technology) in Mexico City June 15-19, 2015. In accordance with GIST’s mission of stimulating economic growth and development via the creation of successful startups, 23 teams of entrepreneurs were drilled in Lean Launchpad methodology and learned how to refine their ideas into viable business plans. U.S. Ambassador to Mexico E. Anthony Wayne was in attendance as well.

Congratulations to Daniel del Paso and Eduardo Aguirre whose team OrderEat won first place. OrderEat is an app for smart phones which allows customers to avoid lines at the counters of fast food restaurants and coffee shops. Using OrderEat, customers can order and pay from the comfort of their seats. This technology also alleviates pressure and tension for the staff of restaurants and cafés, and saves them time in receiving orders.

Winning 2nd Place was the team Virtual Hospital Mexico, a website developed by Dr. Gerardo Graue-Moreno and Rodrigo Soto Solis. Their business will provide a number of services and networking opportunities to health care professionals.
