GIST Catalyst Virtual Pitch Competition Semifinalists have been announced. This diverse and dynamic group of innovators is a great example of the GIST community's commitment to bring innovative solutions to the world's most pressing issues. “Deep tech” is a phrase you’re going to be hearing more and more of in the coming decade, and it’s going to be more important than ever. But what exactly is it, and why should it matter? At its most simple, “deep tech” is used to describe novel technology that is based on substantial scientific or engineering challenges.
